Industry news / 2019-01-22

The wide application of labels and the continuous development of label varieties have naturally promoted the development of label printing technology. Label printing covers flat, convex, concave, mesh and all printing methods. From the recent trend of global label development, flexographic printing, narrow-width rotary printing, digital printing in Europe and the United States has become a new highlight of label printing, label printing is also the development trend. The label is mainly used in cosmetics, cosmetics, electronic appliances, medicine, daily necessities, food and beverage, supermarket retail logistics and other daily necessities. Among them, the label of daily food, pharmaceutical products are particularly prominent.

At present, the global non-sticker label printing can be divided into flexographic printing according to different printing methods, mainly in North America, and three camps in the Asia-Pacific region with two European regions of impression and flexographic printing. Flexographic printing is a typical example of sticker labels in North America. The main equipment is small and medium-sized unit printing press, mainly used for ink, using drum printing, circular pressure cutting mode, high production efficiency, advanced technology, meet environmental requirements. For each half of embossing and flexo printing in the European market, flexo printing is basically the same as that in the United States. UV ink is used in relief printing. Most of the equipment is stacked or satellite. The same material processing method is used for roll printing.

The main embossing in Asia-Pacific region, most developing countries in Asia-Pacific region, label printing is still relatively backward, even using relief printing, but only a few use UV ink equipment, label printing still uses resin ink, roll printing and leaflet printing coexist; due to the high proportion of manual labels, sheet-fed offset labels are widely used; die-cutting methods are based. At present, labels account for 40% of the global label market, wet glue labels account for 42%, and shrinkage of labels and coatings are 9% and 7%, respectively. The wet glue labels and stickers in the global label market occupy an absolute dominant position. However, as the label industry continues to mature and consumer demand for packaging improves, the future application of wet glue labels will be reduced, the processing volume of self-adhesive labels and shrinkage sleeves will grow rapidly, and the demand of high value-added plastic materials in label printing industry will gradually expand.
