The failure types of pressure sensitive adhesive are mainly divided into three types: interface damage, rubber layer damage, and mixed damage. In general, the adhesion effect of the pressure sensitive adhesive depends on the interface adhesion strength and the cohesion strength of the adhesive itself. Interfacial damage refers to the fact that the adhesive strength between the adhesive and the adhesive surface is not strong enough to completely separate from the adhesive surface and there is basically no residual adhesive. The adhesive layer destruction is due to the low cohesive strength of the pressure sensitive adhesive when the adhesive layer itself damaged part of the glue remains on the adhesive surface. Mixed destruction refers to the mixture of the above two types of destruction.

Usually, with the decrease of temperature, the evolution of the failure of the pressure sensitive adhesive is the transition from layer destruction to mixed destruction and eventually develops into interface destruction.
